I’m not sure how to start this.

Structurally speaking, it would be an “I am” statement (or “Dmitri Wurst is…” if I went for the third person), but whatever first thing I’d put there would be rather declarative and I don’t know what I’d define myself as with that much certainty. What complicates that further is the nature of this site; it’s part personal and part professional.

For a brief background, I grew up as a third culture kid. And while I’d consider my hometown to be several different countries as a result, the Twin Cities are my homest-town and current residence. I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2023 with a B.A. in English and a minor in Creative Writing.

I see myself as more of a writer than a photographer, but if you look at my current portfolio it would seem to suggest the opposite. Part of the impetus for this website was to have a place I could post my creative projects, and part of it was to help motivate me to finish pieces. Which I’m still working on, despite my own perfectionism. This About Me included.
